Wordpress/MySQL question: Want to move blog

Hi. I am in the process of building my first Wordpress site for a client. I set up a test server on iPower and got an installation of 2.7 plugged into MySQL (using iPower tools) and running fine.

My production server is on a KnownHost VPS, and my plan was to get the site styled and functional, move it over from iPower and then do the remaining work on the VPS. I made the mistake of giving my client the wp-admin login and allowing her to test drive for a few days while it was still on the test server. She added 67 articles and 573(!) tags to the content in two days.

Now I want to move the site to the VPS but don't know what to do about this content that she created. Can I export/import the table in MySQL?? My experience level with this is pretty low and I am thinking of just doing a clean 2.8 install on KnownHost and asking the client to re-enter the content, but I am not sure how that will go over.

Thanks in advance for any help.

The answer is Yes. There is an import/export feature on the left hand side which will move all posts and comments

There are two ways to achieve this:

    1) Transfer the whole database.

    2) Use the export functionality.

Dont worry about the tags and posts... they will be migrated in both the methods..

I did it, and it was actually very easy. I used the import/export function. I just set up a new db on KnownHost, installed 2.8.2, and once it was up and running I used import to upload the XML file. As has been mentioned, it brought all tags and posts with it.

Thanks a lot for all the help.
