    Containing a Table

    Hey guys,
    I'm making a tabbed menu that shows/hides divs depending on what tab is selected.

    This is the <div> that contains the tabs and content div:

    Code:

    div#tabbed_index
    {
    text-align:center;
    background-color: #58626E;
    width: 910px;
    margin:auto;
    border: 1px solid;

    }
    and this is an inner div that contains the content:

    Code:
    #pipeline_table{

    	padding-top: 0px;
    	margin:auto;
    	width: 500px;
    	min-height: 1000&#37;;
         border:1px solid yellow;
    	 background-image:url('../images/content_bottom.jpg');
         background-repeat:repeat-x;
        background-position:bottom;
    }
    Note that this is one content...there are other tables that replace this through javascript.

    My problem:

    The content div has a height greater than that of the contained table. The only thing within the #pipeline_table is a table. The width is hugging the sides of the table (great), but the height is almost as if there's a ~20px padding. I've set padding to 0, and height to 100% and auto, none of which work. Any help would be great .

    There is probably some other margin or smoething in effect (probably from a <p> element or something).
    We would really need to see the page to fully diagnose, but try adding a reset
    Code:
    *{margin:0;padding:0;}

    Thanks Ryan. That didn't fix it...the site isn't online yet, but here's a screenshot:

    I'm trying to get that red to surround the table, without the gaps.

    I just realized it's not actually a problem...but it still bugs me that I can't figure out how to control it.

    Do you have a link so I can take a live look to see what's going on? Hard to say being in the dark.

    The site is offline . I don't have a server or domain for it yet either. If it's not obvious then don't worry about it...it's more of a nitpicky thing than anything.

    Well...just post your full HTML and CSS then. The answer is probably an obvious one. Give us enoguh to reproduce it (if it has images then link us to images via photobucket or something)

    It ended up being a padding issue...I must have misplaced your *(). Thanks .
