When is a site considered Popular?

How many hits/visits a day does it take to be considered a popular site. I know many partnership programs won't even communicate with a site unless they are considered "high-traffic" or popular and I was curious as to what number or estimate denotes that.

If you are talking about being popular in the eyes of search engines, then it would be by the number of links that you have pointing in. This is the only way i can think of.

It depends what kind of site you have.

For a humor site, some may consider 3,000 popular while some may consider 10,000 popular.

For Eskimo's who like Dell Computers, 100 would be popular.

It depends how you look at it... it could recieve 3000 hits a day and be unpopular... if everyone hates it. Bit like Microsoft.com I suppose

If you get 3000 hits a day and everyone loves the site, that's when you can start calling it popular
