will there be some sort of time delay or something..
No there shouldn't be any upload delay, but you may need to clear your browser cache.

If you are having problems now that the html is coded properly then that indicates problems somewhere else in your css. Rule of thumb, get your html valid before you start styling it.
Ryan: I checked IE6 and it is working. I got your back, so to speak .
Ryan, is the dropdown working for you in IE6?

This project7 menu does not seem to be working for me in IE6. I am using IETester and it gives me a script error. Isn't that the whole point of that p7 script, to do the same thing as the sfhover script for IE6?

Hi guys, I admit I haven't really looked at or played with this code, but what about this menus setup is making it so hard? I looked at the css when this thread first started (don't know how it looks now), and it was poop. Isn't it just ul ul li background none, width auto, border none, etc... and it's done? I got a script error in ie also while looking the other day. I'd scratch that whole system and use something else if it was me. But, I also know what it like to work on something forever, you don't want to give up.

    Hi Eric,

it was that the menus could not be displayed in IE7 or lower. Everything worked fine except IE.

    I used this guide http://www.projectseven.com/tutorial...ion/auto_hide/

and edited it to the way I like it but the problem with IE remained...

Rayzur and Ryan helped me get it to work in IE but am stuggling to get the text up above the picture on every link other than my home page.

Ryan provided me with code which I added but probably it's my mistake that I added it wrong. am currently revising this..

The code did work when previewed in browser but when i upload it nothing changes.

    Current code is attached.

It is probably my error as i have about 4 weeks css experience but you never know

Yeah that's what I am doing now. Setting it up with the sfhover for IE6.
I just about got it done, I'll upload to my live test files when I am done.

No I didn't get the dropdown working.

He said he wanted the nav above the image which is what the IE6 hack was for.
Not understanding why you aren't getting it to work. Just copy and paste it in...

There are a lot of errors in the code still but I got rid of that p7 menu and used the sfhover for IE6.

It still may need some fine tuning but as a whole it is a lot more stable than it was, it is working in both IE6&7 for me now.

    http://www.css-lab.com/test/lee-hughes/index.html

There is too much use of empty p tags for spacing and anonymous divs with inline styles in the original code. I don't have time at the moment to sort all that out but maybe the page above can serve as a starting point.

IE6 is having some problems clearing the footer too, it may be haslayout problems somewhere.

Hi Ray, the problem is that #outer needs overflow reset since you fed it 100% height
    Code:
    * html #outer{overflow:visible;}

Ok Ryan, I made that change and updated the live page.

The page still has a lot of errors and I don't have time to go any further with it right now as I am on my way out the door.

Feel free to build on it from there.

I was mainly trying to get the menu sorted out.

I'll try to top that. I got rid of all the markup and tried to style it like Rays page (spacing is somewhat not similar due to you can pperfect it yourself.

I think it's nice. Take out the <base> tag in the <head> section, as I used that to access Rays page and use the images .

I also fed IE6 an expression for the min/max width...uhh..tinkered with it a bit and got that .

    I'll try to top that
Just for the record, it was not a competition. I was just trying push lee's code in the right direction by getting rid of that problem menu since IE6 was not working. I acknowledged that it still had a lot of work to go and I invited you to build on it in my absence. It was my intention that we would work together and clean it up.

Now I have taken it even further by cleaning up the html and making it where you can understand the code when viewing the page source.

Ryan I left the IE6 min-width expressions in there, it does not seem to be working in IETester/6 though. The page tracker script at the bottom seems to cause errors in IETester also.

I'll look into the expression problem when I get a chance.

    EDIT:
Ok, I got the min-max expression working in IE6 now.

I know, I never intended it to sound like a competition, though I could see how you could interpret it that way, sorry.

I would have done that, but posting it here would have screwed up the white space and uploading it to my site isn't feasible right now

I didn't see your code for the expression in there, that's why I added it in. Did you have it in your original copy?

No, I was just working out the dropdown problems in the beginning. Though the further I looked into the code the more I saw that it needed some help.

I think we got something the OP can work with now though.

    Thanks for pitching in.

Not to burst your bubble, and I'm glad it is working in dreamweaver preview, but that preview is based off old prestos rendering engine, it's basically crap. I wouldn't trust it at all IMO.

I know in my file manager when you upload a file you can ask for the absolute URL to the document so perhaps you could od the same making sure they are in the correct folder.
