Question Will a TrueType font make any problems using in on a Macintosh?

I'm currently designing a website for a client who is using Macintosh and he was concerned for one font I'm using for his website design which is TrueType. He asked me if is a MacType, which is obviously not? He was mainly concerned because he wants to use the same font type for when designing leaflets/brochures on his Mac. Will that be a problem?

Visitors to a web site see the page using fonts from their computer. If the first font listed in the CSS isn't on their computer it looks for the second, if it can't find that it looks for the third, etc. Just include enough similar fonts in the list to ensure all visitors will have at least one installed.

I'm aware of that and I think the client is not concerned of that, he is just more concerned is he could use the font "TradeGothic" for his purposes on his Mac when designing his leaflets/brochures.

So the question in a simple way is, can Mac support a TrueType font?

Braveheart4, Mac OS X supports the Windows TrueType format. I have quite a few .ttf fonts that I use on OS X.

So what does the question have to do with the forum that it is posted in? Web sites don't have leaflets/brochures - they have web pages.

The question was actually about font support on different operating systems. I should have simplified it by asking "can Mac support a TrueType font?"

Theis forum is for qustions about

SitePoint Forums > Forum Index > Design Your Site > Web Page Design > Accessibility and Usability

So operating systems are irrelevant to this forum since web page accessibility and usability is not affected by the operating system the browser is running on.

I just didn't knew where exactly to post it as it's kinda specific question and I though this category would be more suitable. Sorry if I broke the forum rules.

The computer hardware/software category would probably be the most appropriate one for operating system related questions.
