Make an ESL 'game' using Php

Hi, I apologise if this is in the wrong place but I have searched everywhere else and found nothing.
I am teaching English as a Second Language and would like to be able to put together some games/worksheets for my kids to do online. For the most part these will consist of html forms with blanks (text area) or drop-down choices to fill in the target words. I have a little experience in Php/MySql and web design but I am still a noob. Any helpful tutorials I can read or advice would be gratefully received.
