    Former boss a racist?

Say you were let go by a former employer do to "budget cuts" along with others. Say your former boss is of a certain ethnicity. Say your boss hired others of that same ethnicity? Would you just move on and let it go or take legal action? This is for a school system that gets money from the state.

We get it, you're bitter about losing your job.

Move on for the sake of your own sanity!

Even if this guy is a racist, it's not going to get you your job back.

Say your boss didn't want to continue on with the arguments:

    http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=589542

You got into a tug of war over getting advice from the programmers and kept it up. Instead of budget cuts, your boss could have given a number of other reasons for termination. Budget cuts is very neutral on reference checks. He did you a favour.

You're dead wrong. I did all of the front end flash work. For one reason or another my boss simply did not like me. I heard he was threatened by me. I was no threat to anyone. My boss was an egotistical idiot! I did more than my share of work and I got grief for it. Now some con artist is working on my coat tails.

He did not want to rehire me the first time because I corrected him on my name in front of people. He actually wanted to get rid of me for that. But I fought him and won.

I would not really put this kind of info on the forum either.

Learn from good and bad whatever you had there and move it. Thats life.

You're not alone in that conclusion.

I bet the other side of this layoff story is a doozy.

I do have to say one thing Another Designer, if I were looking into hiring you (freelance or otherwise) and I found these posts, I would certainly never do so.

    Let these things go.

Hey, I did my job and could have done more if only they saw who they had.
But leave it up to human nature to think the worst.
I was not the only one let go...
You're right, I should not be posting these questions anymore.

I fought and won in that I wrote letters to the higher ups that I was being let go for no good reason.
When the website went live that was the day he changes his mind and kept me. He got a call from his boss stating he should not let me go! He would have looked like a damn fool if he did. He was a damn fool and remains a damn fool.

Even if it was a discrimination issue, would you really want to go back to work in that environment, which would now be hostile towards you?

Try to find some proof =]

If you can find proof of this, then you can take legal action.

Of course, you'll probably get fired in the process =] Who wants to work for someone anyways?

So true. Although I will probably end up doing so, the freedom of owning your own business is awesome.

It could very well be your boss's fault. The whole episode undoubtedly has left a sour taste in your mouth. We commiserate with you. However, don't go around badmouthing your boss. reflects very badly on you. Not only you burn your bridges (you never know), you also scare off your future employers.

He was let go a few months ago.

    It's a whole sordid story.
