    Wordpress Plugin that does this

    Hi everybody

I have found we need to do the following on a site.

We have a wordpress blog, and we need an area where people can log in and download some pdf's. The area will be a section of the site where to register you will need to double opt in with an email address (as well as decide whether or not to subscribe to a newsletter).

Ideally, we'd like to have some sort of functionality for this within wordpress, can this be done? Or will it have to be outside of wordpress using a separate program? If so, what do you recommend (free is good and better ).

    Cheers!

    I would try http://lesterchan.net/portfolio/prog...ownloadmanager

Just make the page protected (which you can make the downloads for users only). Might take some tweaking but is very easy to use.

Try amember.com, they have a good membership program that gives users access to private areas of your site that you define when they sign up. Its the best/cheapest membership program and it sounds like it would fit what you want to do.

No need to pay for a plugin like that when you can do it for free.
