    Converting Access to MySQL

I am redoing my humor site, this time with a PHP and MySQL setup instead of ASP and Access. One of the problems I have is the database format. Instead of manually inputting nearly 3000 jokes, I'd like to be able to convert my existing Access database to MySQL.

Has anyone done this before, or do you have any ideas on what would be the best way to convert it? I would really appreciate any help with this.

    Mike

I'm somewhat of a newbie to PHP/mySQL myself but what I would do (which may be the long way so someone jump in if there's an easier way)...This also assumes you're using Linux:

I would export your databases in access as tab-delimited or another text-based format.

Upload them to your server, and then use "mysqlimport" to import them into your tables.

As I said, this may be the long way to do things . I'd love to know if there's an easier way though!
