Recommendations: Trade shows, seminars, 1-2 day classes

    Hi,
I'm going to make a trip out to California around 9/1. I want to write it off as a business trip and improve my skill set all at the same time.

Can anyone recommend any kind of trade show, expo, seminar or 1-2 day classes that are happening around that time. I found a few that I'd like to attend but nothing close to September 1stish. They're all either 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after.

I'm going to LA, so anywhere is CA within 5 or 6 hours or even Las Vegas.

    Thanks for the help.

Is there a particular topic you work in that would make an event relevant to what you do?

Hmm... well An Event Apart is going on December 7-9 in San Francisco... that's all I know of around there. Sorry it's not the same time you're going...

For trade shows, best bet is to check the various convention centers' websites for events. Most have multiple shows running at once (especially LA, that is one monster conv center).

Vegas is a bit trickier--most of the big hotel/casinos double as conference centers. Some of them are as large as most city's convention centers. Only the truly massive (like CES) shows end up at the convention center.

An Event Apart is supposed to be very awesome.
