    Help with decode password

    Hi Guys,

    currently the password passed from a form is being encoded like below before inserted into mysql:

    PHP Code:
    $user_salt "$1$".substr($signup_code08)."$";
    $crypt_password crypt($password$user_salt);
    does anyone know how I can decode it and output the actual password from mysql?

    This is one-way hashing, you can't recover the actual password.

    I second that with Dan, what will be the point if you could decode the password it will make the security non-existence.

    If the user has forgotten his/hers password then make a form so they can reset the password then have it emailed to them. Then they can login and change it to what ever they wish.
