Apache/MySQL server access

Hey,

Im not quite sure if this is the right forum to post this in but oh well.

I have both an apache and a mysql server running on my computer simply for testing before I upload things. I want to make sure they cant be accessed by people through the net and i dont really know much about the servers and how to configure them. Can some one help me with this?
