    Uh, yeah...the word "prototype" is a hint that it isn't in retail stores yet. In the meantime, 3-5 years isn't necessarily as bad as it sounds. After all, Apple's iPhone wasn't the first cell phone.

    It sounds like something similar to what Nikola Tesla was experimenting with in the 1890s.

    IIRC, from an article about the Nokia phone in a Swedish computer magazine the other day, they need to be able to generate about 50 W of power to charge the phone batteries. Currently the can achieve 3-5 mW, so they've still got a lot of development to do. It's an interesting technology, though.
