    Question php URL Friend from scratch

    Hallo all,

    i am currently running a website and it's totally new. I would like to make the URL SEO friendlier.
    the url at the moment is like domain.com/?do=detailpage&cat=2&id=15

    could anyone give me more information regarding the url friendly seo from scratch?

    I read a lot from searching but I am not really good at searching tutorial/tips.

    please help me and thanks. any tips will be a very great help for me

    Why do you feel the current URL is unfriendly to search engines (SE)? I can assure you that SEs do not care or have trouble with the current URL scheme. So you are better off forgetting about SEs in this regard.

    Now creating fancy URLs that rewrite /?do=whatever&cat=2&id=15 to /whatever/super-category-name/page-name-from-id would be an enhancement for the users accessing your site.

    Look up mod_rewrite that is where you will find the information to do this. But be aware rewriting URLs does not help or hamper search engines in the least. It is only for human users!

    rewriting the urls address do not help seo? i thought it's help and i am trying hard to rewrite the url. thanks for the information logic_earth

    Nope not in the least. search engines use the content that is returned from a URL to determine the ranking. The URL only creates the reference to the content.
