Will this be a desktop or a web application? Multi user oder single user? What hardware infrastructure is it supposed to run on? What platform? Where does the data come from?

Both languages can do the job. As SJH suggested, use what you're most comfortable with. As you platform is XP and PHP requires a web server C# might be an easy and natural choice - but I'm no expert on C#.

For a windows desktop app there really is no reason to even consider PHP. Well, unless you like wrangling with GTK+.

If the app is running locally and the data need not be shared, I would ditch MySql as well and go to something more embedded, like Sql Server CE.

    Need help in Application Design

    Hey Guys,
In my previous post I have designed that application using PHP. Thanks for your suggestions. I got it perfectly but it was more dealt with front end. In this thread i have attached a progress report which is more complicated than that. Could you please suggest me hot to start this App.

    Thanks,
    Karthik
