Question Script that will keep certain webpage always in front of all other pages

    Hello all,
I am looking for a script in whichever programming language, that will let me have a certain webpage get back on top of all other webpages.
    Any ideas?
Googling did not help much, don't know why.
    Thanks in advance.

The reason Googling didn't help is because you are looking in the wrong place.

It depends on what browser you're using, but look under your options. For example, in Firefox Tools -> Options -> Tabs "when I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" should be not checked.

Mittineague, I think he wanted a script to enforce it on his website, not a personal browser choice, though I do not think it is actually possible to implement, well unless you can override the browser behavior and lets hope that never happens otherwise spam will be an even bigger problem then it is now.

Since it can only be done via browser settings in the browser itself the answer has to depend on which browser you are using. It is a user choice - not a web site owner choice.

The only time a web site can control keeping something always on top is when all the content is within a single web page where the visitor is unlikely to write their own code to specifically override that choice.

Well, i would like to specify that the goal is not keeping a webpage on top of all OS applications windows, but on top of other webpages only, and for a certain active browser only.

If there are multiple browser windows open then each is effectively a separate application and so you can't control which is on top of which (as that is controlled by the operating system to which a web page has no access).

With pages open in tabs in the one browser you still can't control which tab displays since if you could force a given tab to be always on top there'd be no way to access the other tabs at all.

You can only control it within a single web page by using an in-page modal dialog that is always on top of the other content of the page.

I am assuming felgall is talking about lightbox or one of the other methods of layering content over other content. The easy way to implement a lightbox would be to use one of the jQuery scripts.
