RoR 1.1.6 site keeps timing out @ 10sec...?

I've 'inherited' a RoR 1.1.6 site and have recently transferred it to a new server (nightmare). Now the site is up and running very nicely, until you attempt to upload a semi large file, or visit a page that's slow to load or has a bunch of DB queries.

It seems to time out reliably at 10 seconds. No errors are presented, just a blank white page.

Ruby 1.8.4
Rails 1.1.6
Apache
Mongrel Cluster

I'm open to any guidance or direction you guys may be able to provide.

Did the uploads work fine before you moved server?

If so, then it sounds like a connection timeout on your server, you'll need to increase it slightly in your server config.
