    Yuck yuck.
So why not just raise your prices to cover your costs? If the people who buy from you can't justify it on the grounds that you're just handing SP more money, then you can always add something of extra value to lure them back.

    Unhappy

I must agree with Shawn Mora.

I also work with SitePoint auction more than 11 months and usually sell cheap sites in Startup category.

Usually I sell site for $79-150.
But with your new prices it will very difficult to sell sites with good profit.
    $19 - auction fees
    5% success fee
    $79-19-5%-domain price-webhosting/webscript price = ....

As said Shawn before we are small flippers and your new prices will stop our business here but many customers purchased here very good and cheap sites before your move to flippa.

Ok, let's small flippers leave out your new flippa auction.
That's mean you will lose big part of customers who very often (everyday) purchased here startup cheap sites.

SitePoint was great and wonderful auction !

you must think about it or i am sure many small flippers will leave sitepoint aka flippa which will further reduce your margins.
rest on you as you are the owners. just my advice to you guys out there.

You have the option of splitting the success fee with the winning bidder, or making it a buyers premium whereby the winning bidder is responsible for paying the entire amount to Flippa.

Again, just raise your prices and include a few extras to "justify" the higher cost to those willing to buy.

Ooh, I didn't know about that. Pass the buck on to the buyer. I like that.

    Wink

Dan ?! Are you marketer ???

Your offer to raise prices look very funny

Cheap sites are not same as Mercedes or BMW cars where seller can easy add additional charges to price.

Cheap sites has their market price !!! Cheap sites are not similar to established sites (like luxury expensive cars).
If we will raise additional 25-30 dollars (for covering new flippa' fees) to sites prices (50-100) they will leave market.

And as result we will not have sales.

Given that I'm self employed, yes you could say I am indeed a marketer since I have to use marketing in order to keep food on my table, clothes on my back, my mom's insurance paid, etc...

Which is why I said to add something of (some) value to justify the price increase. Just because I don't sell turnkey Web sites doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about or doing.
