    parsing with dreamweaver, magicparser

    Has anyone run into difficulty parsing hyphens and bullets, from an xml feed?

    Can Dreamweaver by itself corrupt these special characters?

    If the feed was put together well, it should be using html special characters or cdata blocks for each of these hyphens and bullets.

    the browser should then translate them to what they look like.

    I can test the xml feed for output, but the problem is that on inserting to mysql table it inserts as:

    hyphens:
    bullets: •

    Everything is set at UTF8

    I see where it has to be viewed opposed to browser preset:
    Wester -> UTF8
