I want to own .us domain name so I need to be a US citizen to do so? Thanks!
webburu, well technically you do but there are some individuals who purchase the domain name because of its domain hack potential (example: youlove.us), I think the qualifier is that you are either a resident or consistantly working within the country (so a web design firm could probably get away with it if they served worldwide).
Registrars allow non-U.S. citizens to registre .us which I don't find appropriate, but it is like that. There are actually many other Domain national TLD registries that allow foreign entities to register their domains without limitations.
It is not must to be a US citizen to register .us domain.
You'd better have a consultations with accredited domain name registrar for US. If they guarantee you that you will have no problem with that domain name as non US citizen - go ahead
