I have written the below code for url redirection. But it's not working. Any thoughts?

    redirect 301 /index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1811&Itemid=103981 http://xyz.com/index.php

Have you tried using a capital R for redirect?

    Redirect 301 /index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1811&Itemid=103981 http://xyz.com/index.php
To PHP or to Perl, that is the question!

    neel,

There is another current thread with the same problem: mod_alias (Redirect) can't access the query string. Use mod_rewrite (see tutorial in my signature if you need help).
