SHOUT OUT! How do you keep your cool?

With summer on its way, we could all use a few tips on the best ways to chill out! And if it's your winter time, you probably need to let off some steam from time to time anyway. Choose your favorite from out poll and if you have some better ideas, please share them in your post! I, of course, am always totally cool!

A very long cold shower (or sometimes, a long hot steam bath) is enough for me to keep my cool.

i think the folks in australia, where winter is on its way, would be somewhat disappointed in your hemispheric chauvinism, linda

maybe they can chime in on this thread with ideas for how to keep warm

No AC, but getting naked in front of a fan makes the heat bareable.

Or maybe they could recommend what they did to find relief from the blistering heat during this last summer?

When I was growing up, only the filthy rich had central air and few people even had a window air conditioner. My folks used to set a bucket of ice in front of a fan on the worst days.

Our summers are getting hotter every year and the humidity is becoming a killer - I seriously wilt even with min. humidity.

We travelled to Tasmania (not Great White South here :-) where it was much cooler and nice weather for travelling.

Usually lock my self in my office with the air-con and don't move out unless forced to :-)

oh and heaps of cool iced herbal tea

Sweating's great, you burn hundreds more calories a day just keeping yourself cool. My apartment has central air but I don't turn it on.

If I really need to cool down, I go with the cold shower.

Unfortunately it's cold and rainy right now

Well down where I live it starts to be around 105 during the day in May, and this summer it will be 120. To keep cool I go to the gym, or swim. Staying fit somehow keeps me cool, I don't know why though. I always like to go swimming, mostly every day.
    Have a good day.

You missed an option: stay in the AC and never visit the big blue room. That orange ball is scary.

I don't know where the big blue room is and I've never seen the orange ball. Are you sure you're not hallucinating from the heat of it all?
