what is the best computer brand?
It really depends on your needs, laptop, desktop, whether it is to be used for internet, gaming, media editing. Though i think the brand of computer that makes fairly great computers in all different uses is dell, though for example if you wanted a gaming computer Alienware is the best, and if you wanted to edit media, mac is the best. Then if you just wanted to browse the internet as fast as possible just get a machine with a really good specs.

I am quite happy with my Dell.

rani84jor, what kind of computer do you need.
Desktop or laptop?
Gaming or normal use?
Work or home?
You will not get any genuine answers by asking that question unless your are more specific in your needs.
I've been using a Dell Dimension 3000 desktop since my sophomore year in high school (I just graduated from college); so I would say Dell is pretty trustworthy. I am, however, retiring this guy for an HP 2730p Tablet PC![]()

Most generic computers constructed from parts by a computer shop are just as good as any name brands - the main difference is the price. Some name brands do use proprietary constructs inside which limits your ability to substitute parts - which makes those particular brands worse than the no name ones.
At least that's the case for desktop computers. For laptops you are best to go for one of the cheap name brands.

I personally would never buy a prebuilt desktop computer, I prefer custom builds as its cheaper and you know the quality of the parts going in. In terms of laptops I would go with Acer (budget but very powerful), HP (good quality aftercare) or Dell (pretty much the standard for laptops).
I don't like any of the major brands. Except maybe Sony but they're expensive.
I also like custom builds, except I don't do it myself. I ordered a new one just a few days ago from CyberPower PC.
dell is now the best brand out there

Honestly, I like emachines and dell. This is mostly becuase it is very easy to find any drivers that you need for either brand; you can easily download them from their respective websites.
