He's just leaving the staff, not the forums.

Rudy (a.k.a. The Moderating Machine) stepping down means the rest of us will have to work twice as hard. But we'll do it.

Congratulations!
And I'm glad Rudy will be around the forums, though it is a well deserved retirement, too. Not that I have much to do with SQL (yet), but whenever I needed information in the past, just reading the answers in the related forums were always more than helpful.

Well, it's certainly going to get some getting-used-to! Losing the staff member of the year will be a blow to the team.
Congratulations Longneck! You've got some big boots to fill and I'm sure you will do so. You've done alot for the forums as a mentor and an advisor; You definitely deserve the promotion and I have no doubts that you're going to do a fantastic job.

Congratulations Karl! You'll be great in your new role and the tie really suits you.
Rudy, glad that you are staying. I still need to learn lots from you and I don't think that I can learn that much in a short time. So stay for a long, long time
