    Google Wave - How can eCommerce benefit?

    I just watched the hour long presentation about Google Wave and I must say it blew me away. I'm already trying to figure out a way to use it for an eCommerce site (which sells tangible goods) Let's generate some ideas because right now I don't have any!

    Wave is neat, but I don't see anything about it that sticks out as a benefit to eCommerce sites. And as it is right now, it seems to be barely holding together. Very much a developer preview, not even ready for the "beta" label.

    If you want to add synchronous/asynchronous discussion to an ecommerce site, to use as a support forum example, you can already embed a Tangler forum, which I've done for a few years. It supports both threaded discussion and IM-like real-time discussion, and like Wave, the accounts are not tied to a specific forum but to Tangler, so each user can be participating in discussions at all different websites.

    it appears that people have to be members of tangler to participate, is that correct?

    Yes, just like you'd need to be a member of Wave to participate
