I am a retired man. Though a get a pension, I would like to keep myself busy and do something to supplement my income. I want to work from home at my own pace and schedule. Do I have any choice?

Two obvious choices if you want to work online with a blog/website:

- Affiliates programs (you try to sell products to other people online and get paid a commission on each sale)

- PPC ads (you write about something you know really well, people visit your site on which ads are displayed as links, when a link is clicked you are paid a few cents)

In all cases you need traffic, meaning lots of people interested in your topic must come and visit your pages. Your visitors will need to buy from your affiliate program or to visit an advertiser link to possibly buy from him in order for you to make money. It's a number game, and since you have time to play it, why not.

Time is your biggest advantage, and you can learn everything from internet in your own pace. Choose something you feel passion about and would like to do everyday, try to help others and bring value to your community. In the end, what you get will be what you contributed.

or, you can optimize your website SEO and when it has good SERP, PR, and traffic, offer any kind of advertising service. Many organization or company will want to advertise in ur website.

You can set up your payment based on pay per click, pay per impression, or pay per purchase

I would agree with the people here, creating a website powered by advertising (which is exceptionally easy to implement these days) would be a great model, it takes a while to start making large sums of money but given that you have some free time and are willing to put the effort in, a mature website which is constantly updated can do exceptionally well.

Web site that is nice idea but I assume that is not instant to get it run. I assume that you need to spend several month to have nice web site.
