Having problems installing MySql

I am at the final hurdle, I have installed mySQL and now I am at the point where I am at the MySQL server instance configuration. I am at the end and I click execute but it fails to start the service, there is a red cross at this point and it says:

The service could not be started. Which is really annoying as I am not sure what I should now be doing to resolve this. Is it just a case of my admin privleges?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Then why isn't this in the MySQL forum?

You should checkout wamp/mamp, much easier to work with.
