    MP4 to FLV convertion

    Hi,

I have just started produceing videos podcasts for my Blog HiddenCSS. I have high quality MP4 files for those who want to suscribe via iTunes. I am using blip.tv to host my files, which converts them into FLV files for showing on the web. When this service converts the files to FLVs the quality is seriously ruined beond belief! I have also tried converting thee files with Prism Video Converter, with no better luck here.

Has anyone got any suggestions asto how I can convert these with minimal quality loss.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Have you tried media-convert.com or mediaconverter.org? Does it get the same results? You could use the resulting flv and send it to blip.tv directly

    You can try WM Converter.
It's free to use and can easily be downloaded on Download.com.

I typically use WinFF. It's basically a front-end for ffmpeg, with a number of presets and means to customize various video processing settings.

You can play a h.264-encoded mp4 directly through Flash, rather than encode down to a lower quality FLV. That's what the "high quality" button on YouTube is.

I always use domino flv video converter to convert my youtube videos. Domino supports MPEG, MPEG2, MP4, M4V, RM, WMV, ASF, MOV, MPV, AVI, 3GP, etc, format. Both the quality and speed of conversion are excellent. It also can convert FLV videos to MP3, AAC, M4A, RA, WMA, WAV audio formats.
