    What Just Happened??

    Hi Guys,

I just had a buyer accept a reduced BIN price and pay through paypal..
The auction listing showed a change as the bid was being processed, but then for some reason it automatically went back to the standard listing saying there are no bids (and the auction is still going)??

The buyer has paid the amount (less $200) from the stated BIN (as we agreed) until the site has been upgraded and ownership trasnferred.
I just want to be able to close the listing as SOLD and allow the buyer to leave feedback as per the normal process..

Can someone please shed some light on what may have gone wrong?

    Thanks.
    Simon.

Simon, you need to email Sitepoint support rather than posting here.

If someone clicks the "Buy It Now With PayPal" button, they have to pay the full amount for the site to be declared sold in our system, otherwise anyone could go click the BIN button, make $1 payments, and be declared the winner.

In order to have the auction switch to SOLD status, and if you want to sell for a lower price, we recommend lowering your buy it now price (click "Lower BIN Price") and THEN have the buyer click the link to make the purchase & payment. The main point is that PayPal BIN bids need to be paid in full for the auction to close.

Since you've already received payment, what you can do now is:

    1. Lower Your BIN price by clicking on "Lower Buy It Now Price"
    2. Click "Edit Auction Details" and remove your PayPal address
    3. Have the buyer click Buy it Now
    4. Accept the BIN and the auction will close
