I prefer new cars, they last for ages if you take care of them (polish and wash every saturday)
Used cars cost less and are also worth it but never my thing, i find they break down to quickly anyway.
If you have just passed your driving test this year, I would advise you to buy a used one.
well for me..if you decided to buy a car from your colleague and you know him very well, maybe its a good idea for he will give it to you on a reasonable price.
I sit squarely in the used car side. Why you'd pay 30K for something that's worth 20K when you drive out of the dealership is beyond me. But having said that -- I don't really like the style of many cars built post 1990 -- I'm stuck in the 80's.
slightly used car.. as i will be rounding corners in the brand new one anyway![]()
Definitely second hand, even if it isn't an old car. New cars loose value incredibly quickly, about a grand as soon as they leave the showroom.

I would like to express my sincere million thank you to all of the members of sitepoint who gave their valuable comments here and I really appreciate all the advices. All the comments will contribute in my decision to take the new or used car in this year. I will think twice before making the final decision. So far, from all the comments received in sitepoint forum, most people voted to buy the used car but also quite a number of people who voted to take new car. So, if you have anything to say regarding buying a used car or a new car, please share your thoughts here. Thanks.

used but not too old and toyooota lasts longest
Used cars can provide a lot of bang for the buck. While I honestly like new cars; of the mentallity that if you can afford the new one and your spending a lot of money anywase why not.
However; sine most cars depreciate about 5-10K the second you drive it off the lot why not look for one with 5K miles. Might save a lot of money.

It all depends on the budget.. If you want to have a brand new car, then you really need to save a lot of money... But if you are just buying a car for work or for daily routines, you could just buy second hand car..
i prefer a GOOD used car instead of buying a new one...its much more cheaper
