    Strange problem with PHP scripts

I'm transferring website from Linux/Apache to Windows Server 2008/IIS 7. I've copied all DBs, scripts, imported mod_rewrite rules etc.

But when I run website, it displays PHP as simple HTML or as text file.

When I change "<?" in the beginning of scripts to "<?php", I get "500 error".

What is the reason of this?

A possibility is your php code has an error. short php tags like <? are a config option that is probably turned off(I bet you see the unprocessed php code in the html output). When you use the full tag <?php the php is processed, but there's an error in the code.

    Check the php error log.
