    What does this mean??

I just checked the redirects on my .com e-shop (expecting to find nothing but a direct link) and found this... (i have replace the domain name with mydomain...obviously!)

    Checked link: http://www.mydomain.com

    Type of redirect: 302 Found

    Redirected to: http://www.mydomain.com/epages/Domain.v
    anity

Why is their a 302 redirect on the .com when this is the domain on which the ecommerce shop is hosted shouldn't this just be a direct link as its the primary??...Is this purely because Im on a shared server??

And also What is the Domain.vanity bit on the end all about??

    gt,

I'd guess that you've been hacked. What does that page say? What about any hidden code?

    Hi dklynn,

    Thanks for the reply.

My website shows up fine when open and when I close it it displays the correct message (im just finishing setting it up so I close it every time I edit it) .

I have no idea about hidden code...(I really am no expert!!)

The .co.uk forwards to the .com via frame tag (not sure if this is s.e friendly) but the .com doesnt forward any where - yet when I use redirect checker it shows up as a 302 redirect to the adress shown in my first message...Im confused????!! and yes webhost.uk.net I have spoken to them about this and they are completely useless. Can you tell me if having a VPS could solve this problem...as in could i control my own redirection this way - rather than having to agree with 'company policy'.

    gt,

VPS offers you complete control over nearly everything but I'd caution you to be sure that you use a MANAGED VPS. As far as NEEDING VPS, no, a good host will look into a problem for you. If yours doesn't, you need to be looking for a good host.
