Is market place the right place to sell this site?

Hi all,

I have a very well established jewellery site that has been going for 2.5 years.

It has a proven revenue of approx $100,000 USD over this period of time. And it is a UK based site.

My question is after looking at the other sites in the market place they all look very techie.... is this the right place to sell this business/website? Or should I be thinking of somewhere else?

And is there any screening to ensure only legitimate bids are placed?

The best price for a starting bid, I find, is $1. It attracts attention and gets active bidding going. If you wish to control a minimum price do it via a reserve rather than a high starting bid.

You can dig around a bit into the background of each bidder but there have been numerous cases of bidders not paying up. That's a chance you take.

1. Can you close the auction early?
2. Do you have to accept the highest offer?
3. Would there be the right clients on this site for a jewellers?
4. What happens if I get an offer outside of this auction to sell? i.e. I'm committed to this auction... so??
