    Database Permissions

Hi there, I can't seem to figure out setting permissions. I'm using an access database, with godaddy hosting. They told me to switch to Linux hosting but I'm sure if I do I'll need a new database, is that correct? I'm trying to connect to my database thats in a folder as well but I get an error: "Data type mismatch in criteria expression."

this is the code, if anyone can help me out I really appreciate it. thanks.

    Code VBNET:
       Dim objConn As New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OleDb.4.0;Data Source=" &server.mappath("access_db\\CollegeDB.mdb"))

Also, if I were to change databases to like mysql server, I wouldn't have to worrie about permissions correct? Does anyone use mysql server, if so do you got something like a tutorial so I can learn to set it up? thanks.

Every database u use, is gona have some sort of permissions. MySql def has permissions. Just google MySql connection from .net. You will find ample. You will need to download a MySql.dll that you use.

    Then its just like MSSQL:

    MySqlConnection
    MySqlComman

    and so forth
