To be honest, it's all about the money for me. Sure, in the beginning I wanted to learn more and advance my technical skills, but that was all in line with my end goal - making money (financial freedom, really).

I don't like spending time doing things just for the sake of doing it. I would rather be spending time with my family, outdoors, traveling and the like.

I don't work because I want to, but because I have to. If it wasn't for the money, I sure wouldn't be spending time troubleshooting cross-browser compatibility issues, dealing with grouchy clients, waking at 3AM because the server was down (pre-Rackspace), etc.

Call me crazy, but it's all about the money...

I look for automation. When I build a site, I want it to grow and prosper without too much day to day effort on my part.

Other than money I look for success. If you have success the money will come.

I'm happy to entertain my visitors with my witty rants, but I wish my site could generate more money.

Hit the $2000 a month mark in March but haven't gone over $1600 since. Unfortunately, it isn't one website....it's like 60! But, with time and patience it will support me. Good thing I enjoy working on it - nobody said it was going to be easy, and if they did they sold an ebook on it and took my money!

Cybernac, how often do you update the 60 sites? Do some go months/years without update? I find it hard to mange more than a few!

For the first year I spend all day every day on them and the last few months hardly anything for lack of time. l do try to do something small but am able only because I keep a spreadsheet of the sites with dates that I last posted, blogged, commented, etc. I was thinking I should "rinse & repeat" another 60 so I can hope to double my adsense and amazon income but DAMN, I don't wanna work that hard. I really need to learn more automation!
