PHP for the World Wide Web is the one I am reading now and it has been great so far. Check it out.

That said, I've heard that the absolute best PHP book to learn is PHP and MySQL Web Development. I ordered a copy and it is still on it's way so I have not read it yet, but you may look into that as well.

Your best bet is to look at the reviews on Amazon, for the latest books available and user comments.

PHP for the word wide web is a good one. I've also used PHP5 and MySQL for Dynamic Websites, both from Peachpit Press. Of the two, I'd go with PHP5 and MySQL for Dynamic Websites

http://in.php.net/ is the best site to learn php, instead of purchasing a book you can download this manual and study or take printout.
