    start Mysql service

    Hi,

i have installed both mysql and xampp on my system, i disabled the mysql service which was previously installed, now if i start xamp service it says error. if i enable the mysql service it starts the old one i installed manually and not the xampp, i want to change the executable path of my local mysql to xampp service.

How to edit executable path in windows control panel.

Find our where the xampp installed the mysqld file
Also, what do you mean by 'disabled the mysql servive'?
    How do you do that?

yes, i did in windows OS,

    1) go to control panel -> administrative tools -> services
    2) right click on mysql service.
    3) select properties, there again select disable option

It will disable the service and wont allow the service to start or open the specified port.

I changed the executable path to d:/xampp/myql/bin/mydqld-nt.exe (changing image path using regedit) still it does not works.

I enabled the service, if i start xampp service using xampp cp it stats the manuallly installed service. not the xamp service

I would uninstall the first copy of Mysql you installed; then uninstall and reinstall XAMPP.
