I've checked a .co.cc domain name but it is saying that it is $3 to register for the first year, anyone else noticed this?
Thanks.

Seems to depend on what you want to register. When I enter a name which is also registered as a .com, it asks for $3, but if I enter gibberish, it offers the domain for free.

Interesting, I tried what you are saying and saw the same thing.
I was thinking originally I needed a certain affiliate link or something.
Agreed. I'm only seeing it charge for cetain domains but the rest are free.

What stinks is I had the perfect domain name picked out, and then it says I have to pay for it. I thought it was an error at first. Oh well.
my co.cc domain its still free, maybe no longer free just for new register?
well I know that reregistration is $3 a year after the first year, even if it was free, at least that's what the site says
.co.cc is free, apart from, few "premium" names, which costs a fees. But the question remains...is .co.cc worth it?

Miserly is such a negative word. Not everyone is a working adult running a commercial website. People in countries where $7 USD is a month's wage, kids/students that don't have an income, individuals who want to share information with no desire to run advertising, one of the 9% unemployed in the US that wants to blog with their own domain... they are all good candidates for a free domain name like this.

Yes I agree with Dan, I started off with a free domain and it helped me have a website as a poor student. If .co.cc is no longer free you could always get a free .TK domain, they have always been fairly popular![]()
