    Social Bookmarking

    Hi All,

I need a bookmarking service that will allow me to share bookmarks between all major browser includeing:

    • Firefox
    • Safari (Windows)
    • Chrome
    • Opera
    • IE

Any suggestion? I would preferably be able to install a plug-in to each browser so that I don't have to sign-in to any services.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Well, if you use iGoogle, make it your home page on all browsers. You can add services and bookmarks etc, but of course it requires you have a google account.

I don't think there'll be much in terms of cross-browser bookmark plugins. Usually people use one browser and use others to just check out their designs.

At the risk of sounding stupid, are you using delicious? It's web based, but it's accessible from all browsers right?

I suggest you use the google tool bar. If you are signed in it allows to bookmark in any browser and the best thing is it works with all browsers.

Personally I avoid toolbars as much as possible.

Can't stand the things. I keep my viewport as large as possible. Back on my Windows OS (which I haven't used in a couple of weeks since I installed Ubuntu) I had my startbar at the top and on autohide, so my windows were as large as possible. No search bar, simplified controls (back, forward etc), definitely no status-bar.

Here on Ubuntu, I keep both of my bars (menu and open programs) on hide when browsing.

So, for me, I'd hate to have any kind of toolbar installed!

Well one advantage of del.icio.us is that it is entirely web based... which means you can access it from any PC using your login information, and no need for some ugly toolbar stuffing up your screen space. Plus you will have better management and organisation of your website links.

Try delicious, stumbleupon or even blinklist. These are web based bookmarking sites and can be accessing using any browser. You can even access it using your mobile phone.
The right toll free number is your key to success!
