Mod_rewrite rule case-sensitivity question

Apologies for asking a pure mod_rewrite question on this forum, but it gets more answers.

RewriteRule ^item/?$ items/index.php [QSA]

Is there as way I get that to pickup and redirect urls like this too?

without making cases for each derivative?

[NC] means No Case, it makes it case insensitive.

duh, [slaps head].

I found out about that NC rule on my own but had only tried it on the first rule, and forgot mod_rewrite filtered it on down to the other rules.
