    Question Frameworks

    Hi

I was going through CakePHP. Since I am new to frameworks I have this question in my mind for you guys who are already into Frameworks,.

Do not you guys feel more flexibility in developing an application without using any framework? or you think a framework is a must to develop major applications?

The reason I am asking is that I feel its more flexible to develop an app if I use a core PHP instead of a framework.

Please help me clear my doubts.

    Thanks

    depends on project size

I prefere to use framework only if the project is big and framework will give some value

before start using framework calculate needed time to learn the framework

I think some niche frameworks may help in developing applications much faster, depending on your needs.

For example, I built a web applications container called Innomatic for developing web based applications particularly oriented towards administrative ones, so you don't need to reinvent the interface system for your application.

The same applies for some other specialized frameworks in their own niches.

My question is that, how do manage with a framework when you have to fire a complex sql query, which includes multiple joins and whatnot?

Generally, frameworks provide a database layer, you should use it directly.
