My twitter is "whatever" Follow me and I will follow you back.

See, here's a prime example of what doesn't work with twitter. People are not going to just "follow" you for no reason. They might, but then they'll just unfollow you after you automatically follow them in return. Remember people are selfish by nature.

You have to offer something of value! "Follow me and I'll give you weekly announcements to where you can get front row seats for your favorite concert in Denver Colorado every week!" would be a reason to follow someone.

WHY should someone follow you? What do you have to offer? If you plan on sending people to article links (saw in another reply on this post), what's your focus? Why should they follow you to get those announcements?

follow.... swilliams_notts and/or PersonaTwit - have found very useful for making contacts, and also for increasing traffic to websites - have got some sites in my/our portfolio which get 5-10% of traffic from Twitter

Do we think Twitter will last as and continue to grow? Or will it start seeing a slow down and general apathy as Facebook is now seeing?

Twitter has lasted more than most. Probably, there will be a moment when the grow will slow down, but it will remain stable.

Really? Facebook seeing a slow down? MySpace definitely has reached a plateau, but Facebook is far outgrowing MySpace. You should check out their targeted PPC advertising model sometime. It's getting very good actually.

I managed to avoid twitter for ages, but finally sucmbed to the pressure and actually did something with my account, and actually I now think it totally rocks! It's a great way to network with people and is really very addictive. If you have a question, post it on there for an immediate response. You might ask 'what's the point with forums'? Well I know when I was starting out in web development they were an invaluable source of information. Twitter is the same, but quicker! You just have to build up a good group of contacts and avoid all those spammy profiles.

Add me if you're a real person and don't want to push cheap drugs to me lol.
