    Arrow Somewhat off-topic browser question?

    Hi,

I finally installed chrome to check web pages and the darn thing reset the file associations. I fixed that in the OS but Thunderbird still is opening links in chrome instead of FF where the OS thinks HTML files are supposed to be opened.

Anyone else experience this? Anyone know how to fix it?

I'm only asking here because I know many of you have grabbed chrome for testing purposes.

    Thanks guys.

I found a way in case anyone else has the same issue:

If Firefox already thinks that it is default, exit Firefox completely, go to "Start Menu -> Run" and enter this into the text box:

    firefox.exe -silent -setDefaultBrowser

    It worked for me!

Apparently I just come here to talk to myself...

You can also go into Tools, Options, System Defaults, and have FF declare itself as the default browser.

Sorry no one got back to you, but look at it this way: when someone else has this problem, and does a search of the forum, they'll find this thread and have their problem solved. Paying it forward....

If you launch Firefox you can set it as the default browser within the options menu, this question could have been answered with a 5 second Google search.

Thanks for the smartass answer Alex - I did that 10 times and it didn't take w/o the command line command. I'm sure you are a API expert and know everything - maybe you're wasting your time here?
