Not that they are important but are post counts messed up?

I just joined this community and am checking everything out which is probably why I have noticed that post counts are messing up. I posted several times before coming off of 0 posts. I can post a time or two and then the post count may go up once. not that it is a big deal, cause I here to learn and not to get my post count up. When you are new and looking around you notice little things and big things about how the forum works, or doesn't.

Just wanted to know if it was just my post counts messing up or if it is the same for all posters. Maybe there is a method to the posting that I am unaware of being new and all

the answer is actually pretty simple: posts in the Introductions and General Chat forums do not count
