In honor of the holiday that begins the month of April, where the tradition is to attempt 'fooling' your comrades and colleagues, this month's theme will be ILLUSION. ArmchairCritic and ParkinT have discussed this and agree this is an opportunity to show off some of your 'Photoshop' skills (if you are so inclined).
Entries this month should include:
Images that are misleading (like the landscape reflected in the pond that is inverted)
An unusual angle or strange lighting
An image you have modified with an image editing application
Please do not post anything that rightfully belongs in What is it?

Been trying to wrap my brain around this challenge for days now.. and I've kinda pushed myself to snap something unusual. This pic is the result of some experiments Tell me what the illusion is
edit: There's been no photoshopping with this, it is literally as shot.

It appears the sun is setting but there is a reflection in the clouds. Is that what formed the dark band across the center of the background?
Not exactly, no... but it's as near to a good guess as it could be. There's a very particular effect that results from taking a picture like this. Once you know it, you see it immediately and the illusion is lost
