I need software that will allow me to video my screen. I have seen some people do this for tutorials on youtube. I was wondering what software they are using, of course besides hypercam because when I use hypercam I cant get a playback, it just black.

Camtasia Studio is the leading commercial software for screencasts.

I've used a free alternative called CamStudio before. It has some very strange quirks, but it did work and worked quickly. I made some Flash screencasts with it in just a few minutes.

Camtasia is quite pricey but really decent.

As Dan said CamStudio is a really decent alternative and I have used it a couple of times for various projects. If you can afford it though, you cant really go wrong with Camtasia.

You can try Fraps dot com, its normally used in games but capturing your screen for tutorial purposes will also do the job.
