    Call all Laptop Experts....Any Ideas???

OK, so my laptop has this strange problem...

It only happens when I'm typing an email (I use this laptop when I travel,
so replying to emails is about all I do with it when it comes to typing)

So, I'm typing along and the little flashing vertical black line where the
letters come out....suddenly moves a few lines above where I was typing,
causing my typing to come out up there.

It's very irritating to try and type anything as I have to watch ever
step of the way (I can only type by looking at the keyboard)

Any idea what could be causing
this, and how to fix it?

Here's a picture I made up to help visualize what I'm talking about...

It is possible you are hitting the trackpad while you are typing? I've personally have had that happen a few times. There could also be a flaw, as I've heard, some laptops have a structural problem causing the keyboard to mess with the trackpad..
    Logic without the fatal effects.

No, since I've noticed this I've been very careful to not hit anything.
Something strange is going on for sure.

I was over on Google and I'm finding out that this is a big
    problem with laptops.

I may do a credit card charge back and force Dell to
take this one back and try a different brand.

But, on the other hand...my wife has a Dell laptop
and she's not having this issue at all.

Without even having identified the source of your problem, doing a chargeback would be fraud and theft.

Dell would probably win it, but each chargeback, won or lost, costs the company money and may lead to higher processing rates with their bank.

Is that really how you deal with the businesses you buy from?

When I read that kind of thing, it really makes me not want to help you. And I sure hope you never buy anything from me.

You say it only happens when you're typing an e-mail, have you thought that it's unlikely the hardware is the reason for a problem with only one program? Have you tried other programs?

Have you tried plugging in an external mouse, and disabling the internal mouse from device manager to rule it out?

    Have you tried calling support?

have you tried to go to start -> controlpanel -> mouse -> pointer options tab -> and uncheck the "enhance pointer precision" ?

now I don't know what windows you're runnin', but it's known that certain mouses and trackball devices can make some problems

I hadn't heard about that one yet, but thanx for the tip...I'll try that shortly
and see if it makes any difference.

Lol, this happened to me once.

I was fixing someones printer and every three or four words I typed, the cursor would jump to a different place. I finally realized that the edge of my shirt was touching the trackpad and making the cursor move...

as laptop keys are different from keyboard key. when we click one key suddently other key will be pressed. as u told u r travelling. its because of that. so while replying carefully clik the keys then no problem.
