personal websites for friends with donation

    Hi there,

i have some friends who own a dragonball z website and he wants to put up a donation page up so people can donate to him to pay for his hosting i gave him

anyway how would you go about getting people to donate money on their own free will to site you like to go to alot just to keep it running how would you convince people to do it even if its a couple of bucks?

What should i do about him getting donations for his site and get his users to donate money to him to cover for his hosting?

    Any suggestions or opinions?

    Thanks,William

People rarely, if ever, donate to sites.

If you want people to, you need a personal message from the site owner to the users explaining why the money is needed. It's generally also helpful for the site owner to slip in some veiled threat to have to close the site down if he doesn't get enough cash to pay his evil hosting company.

You could offer the potential to receive something such as advanced articles one week before they go live on the website for donators only (via email of course). This would mean people who want to donate get something out of it, but people who do not wish too will get the same information, they just have to wait slightly longer for it (Kind of like how premium memberships work).

Does the site provide enough content not found elsewhere/does it have a rabid enough memberbase to get people to pay extra?

It's impossible to answer these questions without knowing the site in question.

So you're hosting an illegal-content website and want to involve MONEY?
