How to shade a passage in a Wordpress post?
How do you shade a passgae such as a paragraph in wordpress. I see this sometimes in review sites to indicate they have taken a passage directly from the product page. There is usally a line going by the left side with content background in a grey and slightly in (so not inline with rest of the content) rathen than white background as with rest of the content.

The best way to know for certain would be for you to look at a page's view-source, determine what tags/ids/classes the text of interest is using, and then look at the corresponding CSS rules.
But I'm guessing it's the <blockquote> tag. Try it in a test post (preview not publish) and see if it's anything close to what you're looking for.10 Rules for Driving Traffic Using Forums | Ultimate SEO Checklist
