How do I make a sample code fiels in dreamweaver?

I would like to add a box, With sample HTML code in for my website, But the code keeps turning into forms ect.

How do I keep it to just text?

Instead of using < and > you have to use &lt; and &gt; for the "less than" and "greater than" symbols, plus you will need to add <br /> tags for each line as well.

Is this what you meant, or did you need help with the box itself also?
